Craig Kielburger earns his PhD in Organizational Development and Change

Craig Kielburger has completed his PhD in Organizational Development and Change at Fielding Graduate University. The university announced the milestone on May 7, 2026, describing him as a global social entrepreneur, bestselling author, and changemaker.

The degree adds an academic foundation to more than three decades of hands-on work building movements, leading organizations through growth and change, and helping others turn purpose into measurable impact.

From Free The Children to Legacy+

Craig founded Free The Children at age 12 with his brother Marc, after reading about a child laborer whose life was cut short. What began as a youth-led movement grew into programs that helped provide education to more than 200,000 students, empowered 30,000 women through income initiatives, and expanded access to healthcare and clean water for more than one million people across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

Today, Craig and Marc co-lead Legacy+, a team of strategists, creators, designers, and innovators that helps companies, foundations, and individuals build authentic movements and legacy projects with measurable impact.

What he is working on now

Alongside Legacy+, Craig co-hosts the My Legacy Podcast with Marc, Martin Luther King III, and Arndrea Waters King. The show is syndicated through iHeartRadio on more than 100 stations and streams on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Amazon Music.

The four co-authored What Is My Legacy?: Realizing a New Dream of Connection, Love, and Fulfillment, released on Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2025, with a foreword by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
